Digital Storytelling

As part of Studies of Society and its Environment, a task was given to students to create a digital story that could be used in a primary education class. Along with my partner Elise, I created a movie that tells the story of James Cook’s journey to the great southern land.

This turned out to be quite a time consuming task. However, we were very pleased with the outcome and managed to teach ourselves a bit about technology in the process.

I would recommend this as a task to give to stage 3 students as long as you give clear directions on what is expected. The reason for this is that there really is no limit to how far you can go with this kind of an activity, and as we all know time is precious in the classroom.
